Furniture Loan website

Hello All:

As we talked about last Friday, we now have a website for our Furniture Loan Program. The website can be found at http://www.utaab.org/furniture.

You are welcome to go to the site and take a look, and you are welcome to register to use the site if you need furniture.

Also, keep the website address saved for the Fall. As you know, there will be lots of international students coming to Austin in August. If you happen to know of any international student friends who need some help getting furniture, you are free to pass on our website to them.

ISC Friday Night Fellowship: Nigerian meal, Book discussion, Movie night, & More!

Dear friend,
Isn’t this the "coolest" summer with lots of rain ever? What a blessing it is!
Come join us for yummy Nigerian dishes this Friday and discussion over how authenticity and trust matter to a community building process. After discussion, we’ll have a movie night for whoever want to stay and hang out more. We will also announce more details about the group’s next summer outing Rock Climbing. Last but not least, check out our furniture loan program if you or your friend need some furniture but with really limited budget (we loan you the furniture for free!).


This Friday at Wesley House
Dinner will begin at 6:30pm
Brother ROTIMI will fix us  a Nigerian feast this Friday !
Here is the menu:

Appetizer: fried plantain and vegetable soup
Entree: Chicken flavored jollof rice (option of spicy and not spicy)
Dessert: something good from HEB

Rotimi can use some help from you with cooking all these meal! If you are available to help or interested in cooking Nigerian cuisine, come to Wesley House earlier to give Rotimi a hand. He will be there and start cooking at 4:30pm.

Discussion from 7:30 to 8:30pm
This Friday we will be exploring the idea of being authentic vs wearing a veil. Read chapter 4: Unveiled faces: Authenticity in the book <Everybody’s normal till you get to know then> before you come if you can.  Here are some great quotes from this chapter:

Movie Night this Friday after meeting

Rock Climbing
When: Saturday morning, July 7
How: We will prepare the equipment and there’ll be a very experienced rock climber Paul giving you instruction and tips
Where: We will meet at Wesley House at 9am and giving all the drivers the direction to the place.

We will create a sign-up sheet soon. Please spread the words to your friends! We will also need to know the size of your shoes too so we can prepare rock climbing shoes for everyone.

ISC Furniture Loan Program
Do you or your friend need furniture but don’t have the budget for it? We might just have something for you! Our Furniture Loan Program, directed by Austin, is aimed to help students who have limited budget for furniture but are in need of it by providing used furniture for free. We will also help with delivery!
