ISC Friday Night Fellowship: Rez Week Special Gathering

Dear friend,

this Friday we will have a Special Gathering with Jaeson Ma, who will speak at Rez Week (see more details about Rez Week at the end of this message) later that evening. There won’t be a regular meeting at Wesley House . Instead, we will meet at 5:30—7 pm, UACC Campus Center (just behind Education building. Address:1909 Universty Ave. Basement Floor).
Dinner will be provided (Rice / Stir Fry Vegetables / & Chicken Wigs). After the gathering, we will head to campus for Rez Week’s evening events at Gregory Plaza.

Here are more information about Rez Week:
Every year all the Christian ministries on UT campus unite for a week of outreach called Rez Week. Rez week, short for Resurrection Week, takes place before the Easter week and calls for attention of individuals from all walks of life. This year’s Rez Week will be from March 25th to 31th. There’ll be activities going 24/7 at Gregory Plaza, such as live music, coffee, art, forum, prayers, special speakers, etc. Please stop by, check it out, and feel free to have a conversation with staff members/volunteers who serve there!

Spring Outing: BBQ Dinner at Edmonds’
Join us for a social outing in the Home of John and Sharlene Edmonds. They live off 290 West toward Dripping Springs and have inivited us for an evening of Food / Fun / Fellowship on their beautiful deck in the Texas Hill Country. Don’t miss this opportunity for some great food and a relaxing evening in a real American Home!

What: a relaxing evening at Mr.and Mrs. Edmonds’ lovely home and with great food!
When: 4:30 ~8:30pm, Saturday (March 24)
Where: We will meet at Wesley House for carpool at 3:45 and leave at 4pm (Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds’ address is: 1031 Windmill Rd Dripping Springs, TX 78620-3954. From this week, we will have a regular prayer time for the group during weekend at Campus House of Prayer. Everybody is welcome and invited to participate!

I’ve been receiving thank you letters from you, and would like to acknowledge all those that are involved in planning, organizing, donations, transportations, and volunteering. Thanks to Cliff, Delores, Bill, Matt, Jordan, Nancy, Blake&Nashuan, Mike, UT Family Housing, ISC volunteers: WenRong, Rotimi, Michael, Kurt&Susan&Joshua, Tim&Courtney. Those names that are up here are just the tip of the iceberg, there are others that even I don’t know, but helped and supported us.

Leave a comment on our blog if you appreciated this event and those friendly volunteers. Also give us some feedback on how to serve you better. We’re always looking for ways to connect International Students here to the local community! And this Rodeo event sure is a great venue!

We also have big events like Rodeo Austin to help International Students make friends with Americans. Our next big event coming up is LakeDay ‘07 in May and you don’t want to miss it. Check out our Flickr to see some photos of it last year. It was a blast.
