Dear Friends and Family,
You are invited to:
THE HOLUBEC HOME
SATURDAY DECEMBER 23, 2006
TIME: 1:00 PM until early evening
A CHRISTMAS LUNCH
We are opening our home to all of you to share the Joy of Christmas with you.
Please come and be our guest. We will provide a traditional Holubec style Christmas lunch.
Food / Christmas Music / Christmas Stories / Fun Gift Exchange (White Elephant Game)
Please plan to bring a modest gift (under $10) WRAPPED that will be
chosen in a gift exchange process.
The gift can be for a man or women — which ever you choose. BUT
DON’T SPEND MORE THAN $10.
The exchange process is a game like this:
Each person will have an opportunity to choose one of the wrapped
gifts from under the tree. It is really fun to discover what each
person has chosen. After each gift is chosen and unwrapped, if it
isn’t an “appropriate” gift the chooser may choose to give their gift
to someone else who they think would like the gift OR they can even
exchange their gift with someone else who has already chosen a gift.
If someone who hasn’t chosen is granted a gift by someone else, then
they must choose a gift to open and decide if they will keep the
gift they were given or if they will keep the gift they opened. One
of the two gifts must go to the person who gave them their opened
gift. IT IS REALLY FUN AND CAN BE PLAYED AS A “GAME OF BLESSING” OR
AS A “GAME OF TRICKS”. Personalities will be revealed as tricksters
and practical jokers just love to show that side of themselves, while
opportunities to bless others also show themselves.
PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS TO YOUR COMING. We will need to plan for food and other logistics.
If you want to bring a friend (new to our family), feel free to invite
them. JUST BE SURE AND INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR CONFIRMATION BELOW:
